The role

We are looking for a skilled Business Architect who will actively and holistically lead the Damen business in transformation and optimization initiatives, supporting the development of business strategy, outcomes and capabilities. The Business Architect's area of responsibility includes helping the organization reach the desired business results related to increasing revenue, reducing costs and mitigating risks. They focus on developing the business strategy and business architecture of the whole organization.

The Business Architects are part of the central Enterprise Architecture team lead by the Lead Enterprise Architect, who reports to the Chief Digital Officer. The other architectural roles are within the IT/IM department and have to be aligned with. Current focus of our Digitalization strategy is on implementing our Enterprise Platform with new applications to enable the Digital Transformation. It will be part of your responsibility to ensure that we make choices with a future mindset in line with Damen's vision and long term strategy.

Key accountabilities

The architectural jobs as well as the enterprise architecture discipline within Damen are constantly being developed, this will give you a lot of freedom (and responsibility) in doing your job. These are the key responsibilities of the Business Architect:

• Guide the design and realization of operating models;
• Identify, guide and consult on people, processes and technology requirements to operationalize the operating models;
• Support organizational change and investments towards achieving the targeted business outcomes;
• Create business architecture deliverables that clarify strategic intentions, identify business outcomes (scope of changes), explore implications, impacts and risks;
• Align business and IT: give architectural direction to the strategic Digital Program, which implements and sets up continuous improvement of SAP, Dassault 3DX, Workday, Salesforce, and others;
• Support the evolution of the Enterprise Architecture teams' services and help define the strategy for the EA discipline.

Skills & experience

We are looking for a Business Architect with the following skills and experience:

• Scientific work and thinking level, preferably with an Academic education in the field of Business Administration, Business Informatics or Administrative Information Science;
• Experience as a Business Architect in a complex organization, preferably a manufacturer where Product Lifecycle Management is applied;
• Extensive knowledge of and experience with architectural methods and techniques;
• Proactive, self-motivated, taking initiative and sharing innovative ideas;
• Knowledge of and experience with project-based work and change management in complex organizations;
• Knowledge of technological and market developments;
• Knowledge and experience with regards to TOGAF in an agile (SAFe) environment and ArchiMate is preferred.
